Preparation
Firstly, dilute 20mL of concentrated hydrochloric acid with equal volume of water, take 20g (0.1mol) of barium carbonate, and then add diluted hydrochloric acid bit by bit with stirring. Releasing carbon dioxide and forms an aqueous solution of barium chloride. Filter, remove the insoluble components, heat the filtrate on the water bath to concentrate it to half of its original volume, cool it, and then the barium chloride will crystallize. Filter with glass filter, wash with water and ethanol in turn, and dry naturally in air. The product is barium chloride dihydrate with a yield of 90%.
Storage
Firstly, store in a cool and ventilated warehouse. Meanwhile, keep away from kindling and heat sources. Further, the packaging is sealed. Secondly, it shall be stored separately from oxidants, acids and edible chemicals, and shall not be mixed. In addition, the storage area shall be equipped with appropriate materials to contain the leakage.
